What quantities Do you sell your logs in?

We sell our logs by cubic meter (volume) not by weight. Our standard load is 1 cubic meter, this is about a third more than what people typically refer to as a tonne, bag which is .73 of a cubic meter.

Where should I store my logs?

Anywhere that’s dry and preferably with good air circulation. Some sort of external log store is ideal. For best results bring your logs into the house a few days before you want to burn them. Here is a great guide to storing your logs.

How do I know the logs will be dry and ready to burn?

All of our logs are specially seasoned and stored until they are suitable for using as firewood and have a moisture content lower than 20%.

Are you part of the Woodsure Ready to Burn Scheme?

We are not part of this scheme for more information please click here

Where does your wood come from?

All of our wood is felled locally as a result of arbourcultural work. We do not use any wood specifically grown as fuel. We receive ‘waste’ wood from tree surgeons and contractors, grade and store it prior to processing it into logs.

Why are your logs not kiln dried

The process of kiln drying is used to effectively short circuit the seasoning process, recently felled wood can be processed into logs and then baked in a kiln to remove excess moisture and make the logs suitable for firewood. There are a number of reasons why we don’t do this, partly because it adds to costs when, with proper seasoning, it’s not needed. But mainly because we simply like the idea of processing our logs as naturally as possible. Please consider also that a kiln itself uses energy.
